Berkeley Marina Radisson (10 minute drive from lab in Berkeley Marina)  http://www.radisson.com/home.jsp General price range: US$  99-238. Formerly known as the Marriott Berkeley Marina Hotel, this hotel is located at the Berkeley Marina in west Berkeley on the Bay. It has 373 rooms. It is located on the Bay, with a great view of San Francisco, but is about 4 kilometers to downtown Berkeley or the UCB campus. There is a hotel restaurant and another nearby. Parking is available on site for free. This is the only modern hotel in Berkeley. It is easily reached from Highway 80, take the University Ave. turn off and drive west (toward the Bay). Turn right onto Marina Blvd. The hotel is on the left side. Note, however, that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and that a car, taxi, or bicycle is necessary to reach the amenities of Berkeley. French Hotel (closer to lab small place with some bars and restaurants near fancy part of Berkeley) General price range: US$  100. The French Hotel is a small hotel (18 rooms) located in Berkeley's gourmet ghetto, about 6 blocks northwest of campus. There are many restaurants, grocery stores, food shops, and one good used bookstore in the area. Somewhat noisy area (due to traffic). There is a popular cafe located in the lobby. Bancroft Hotel (Fancier small place – next to campus -- in the thick of Berkeley - one block from People's Park) http://www.bancrofthotel.com/core.html General price range: US$  75-200. Howard Johnson Hotel Berkeley (very close to Lab 1 minute walk) General price range: US$  64-105.
